The Crimson Needle has been in tales for centuries. It’s dark, death-filled past is known far and wide. It holds magic from many wise wizards of its time. Once it was a wand of great joy and kindness. Playing fun tricks, creating whimsical parties, healing people, and helping others laugh. It was last known to be held by a Queen who loved her land and all her people. Sadly, the mysterious loss of her King and children turned all that around. It had always been there for her, even helping her become the Queen she was. Some say wands are just a tool…that they feel nothing. She would protest against you on this matter. This wand became jealous of her time with her family. She no longer wielded it. It became dusty, just lying on a shelf in her royal room. On the night of the tragic event, she ran to fetch it, hoping it could save the lives of her King and children. It grew so jealous and angry that it turned red hot, burning her hand with the handle’s pattern, and she could do nothing. At this, she cast a spell and threw it through a mirror. This act bound it there forever, to be hidden away from the world. Somehow it has been told through the mouths of many that it is still in existence, out there waiting for it to be collected. Who will wield it? Will it still be filled with dark magic and consumed with rage? Will it become the wand of a King, a peasant, or even a witch?
All sculptures are made with genuine love and passion.
Some are made with lots of thought and sketches. Others I just go with the flow and allow myself to just zone into the material and see what comes out. I use professional materials to sculpt each one. They can take any where from one hour to four or more for really detailed ones. Once created I then bake them. Then its time for Painting! This too can take several hours and layers. I use a base coat and a top coat at the end to ensure it stays fresh and lovely. Once it is ready to depart my hand and fall sweetly into yours I pack it up. I will include tissue paper and ribbon. I also with most wands add a certificate for you to enjoy.
I have made them for all kinds of reasons. I love that my clients can come to me for something special that comes from their heart. It could be for a birthday, wedding, baby shower, parting gift, or almost anything you can imagine. These pieces and all of my art is meant to be a journey of expression and delightful team work.
